Los Recorridos Fotográficos nacieron en el año 1988 por iniciativa de la Asociación Amigos de ARCO, con motivo de la conmemoración del 150 aniversario de la invención de la fotografía. La creación de una colección internacional fotográfica, inspirada en su totalidad en ARCO, tuvo por objetivo apoyar el desarrollo de este nuevo medio de creación y promover su integración en el contexto del mercado artístico contemporáneo. La Colección Recorridos Fotográficos se planteó además como el instrumento idóneo para documentar la Feria, siendo hoy el más vivo testimonio gráfico de lo que ha sido este acontecimiento hasta 2010.
/ The Recorridos Fotográficos were conceived in 1988 on the initiative of the Asociación Amigos de ARCO, to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the invention of photography. The goal of creating an international photography collection inspired entirely by ARCO was to support the development of this new medium and promote its integration into the contemporary art market context. The Recorridos Fotográficos Collection was also originally devised as the ideal tool to document the Fair, and is now the most vivid graphic testimony of what this event has represented up until 2010.
